Arsenal defeat Leeds 4 -1 to maintain lead over Man City

Arsenal dispatched visitors Leeds United 4-1 at the Emirates to extend their Premier League lead back to eight points just hours after watching rivals Manchester City dismantle Liverpool

Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal ran out comfortable 4-1 winners over Leeds United at the Emirates to re-extend their lead at the top of the Premier League to eight points.

Hours prior, rivals Manchester City dismantled Liverpool 4-1, cutting the Gunners lead to just five points in the first game back after the international break.

However, Arsenal did not blink. While they looked a bit sluggish in the first half, they went in at the break 1-0 up thanks to a Gabriel Jesus penalty.

And then after half-time, the Gunners ramped up proceedings, with a second from Jesus and a goal from Ben White putting Arsenal 3-0 up. While Rasmus Kristensen bagged a goal for Leeds, Granit Xhaka then put the finishing touches on the result with a late goal to make it 4-1.

Arsenal were in cruise control in the second half after their early two goals and with that in mind, here are three things Arteta got right as the Gunners continue their fine Premier League campaign.
