The Onigbongbo LCDA was agog on Friday as Chairman Moyosore Adebanjo marked his first 100 days in office with a massive empowerment drive for residents.
At the event, the council launched the Mega Empowerment Programme 1.0 and introduced the Eco-Circulate Waste-to-Wealth Initiative, both aimed at boosting local businesses and promoting cleaner communities.

More than 500 residents — including youths, women, widows and artisans — received items such as cash grants, sewing and grinding machines, freezers, solar lamps, generator sets, clippers, and CNG tricycles. ICT opportunities were also unveiled in partnership with the Industrial Training Fund.
Lagos Commissioner for Youth and Social Development, Mobolaji Ogunlende, praised Adebanjo’s efforts, describing the programme as a bold step toward economic inclusion and community development. APC State Chairman, Pastor Cornelius Ojelabi, and GAC member Dr. Abayomi Finnih also commended the chairman for prioritising people-focused governance.

Adebanjo, who restated his commitment to his F.I.N.E Agenda — Foster Economic Growth, Invest in the People, Nurture Ideas and Enterprises, Ensure Wellbeing — announced plans to launch the O’Marshall Security Initiative to strengthen neighbourhood safety.

Within his first 100 days, the administration has recorded gains in youth development, education, welfare, infrastructure, and commerce. Highlights include the resurfacing of key roads, a breast cancer awareness walk, distribution of CNG tricycles, support for market traders, and renewed waste evacuation efforts.

One of the day’s major unveilings was the Waste-to-Wealth programme developed with the Office of the Special Adviser on Climate Change and recycling platform PAKAM. The initiative allows residents to exchange recyclables for cash, food items, bus passes and other rewards.
Dignitaries across political, traditional, and community groups attended the celebration.
Adebanjo described the dual launch as the beginning of “a new phase of purposeful governance,” assuring residents that more projects in infrastructure, education, innovation and security are underway.
