President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will hold a meeting with organised labour over a new minimum wage on Thursday.
The meeting, which will have representatives of the tripartite committee in attendance, will hold at the presidential villa.
TheCable understands that the federal government is on the verge of agreeing a new national minimum wage after protracted negotiations.
On June 3, the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and Trade Union Congress (TUC) grounded the nation’s economy over the minimum wage dispute.
The NLC and TUC have proposed N494,000 as the new national minimum wage, citing inflation and the prevailing economic hardship in the country, while rejecting the federal government’s N60,000 minimum wage offer.
