Tinubu mourns Kenyan leader Raila Odinga

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has extended his condolences to the government and people of Kenya over the death of former Prime Minister Raila Amolo Odinga.

In a statement issued on Wednesday by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, President Tinubu described Odinga as a towering statesman whose lifelong dedication to democracy, justice, and national unity left a lasting legacy in Kenya and across Africa.

He hailed Odinga’s courage, resilience, and unwavering commitment to electoral reform and people’s empowerment, noting that his ideals would continue to inspire generations.

“Raila Odinga was not only a freedom fighter and democrat but also a true Pan-Africanist who stood for inclusive governance and regional cooperation,” the president said.

Tinubu expressed Nigeria’s solidarity with President William Ruto and the people of Kenya in their moment of grief, praying that Odinga’s memory would continue to guide the nation toward peace and progress.
