Governor Aminu Tambuwal of Sokoto State, a leading presidential aspirant under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has stepped down for Atiku Abubakar.
Invited to make a special announcement, he said: “I, Aminu Tambuwal, having consulted widely throughout the length and breadth of this country. I consulted so many leaders and supporters, I have come to the firm conviction that time may come for us to make sacrifices for the good of our people.
“I have come to the conclusion that to the glory of God Almighty, and for us to close ranks, I have come to the patriotic conclusion to step down from my aspiration and appeal to my supporters to vote for Alhaji Atiku Abubakar.”
