Rising profile of Elijah Chinonso Ejike

Nigeria over the years has been blessed with abundant talents in sports, especially football. In the past, the country boasted of brilliant footballers like Nkwankwo Kanu and Jay Jay Okocha. Today, the likes of Victor Oismhen (Napoli) and Ademola Lookman (Atalanta) are doing the country proud in their respective European clubs.

There are many talents were the aforementioned come from and one of them is Elijah Chinonso Ejike.

This report takes a look at Ejike, a rising star who is burning with the zeal to do the country proud wherever he may find himself in the future.

Ejike whose state of origin is Imo, was born February 13, 2005. The 18-year-old who was born and raised in Lagos can be described as a natural talent as many of those who witnessed his childhood say he had no other hobbies apart from playing football.

The determined lad is a versatile forward who can play in any part of the field close to the opponent’s 18 yard area. Although his stronger foot is his right foot, he is also very good with both legs. He is upwardly mobile and very aggressive in the penalty area. Some observers have likened him to a young Samuel Eto’o. At a height is 6.2cm and weighing 60, Ejike is also good in the air and has scored many headers.

Playing experience

Two years ago, Ejike played for Heartland Feeders F.C, Owerri where he helped the club remain at the summit. While playing for this club, he won the young player of the year award. As a result of his remarkable exploits at his first club, 360 Football Academy took note and signed him last year. He continued his award streak with his new club, as he bagged ‘’the best dedicated player of the year.’’

He is currently with Great Success Football Academy and has continued from where he stopped.

On the field of play, he has a very good communication skill. His previous handlers have spoken highly of how he is able to communicate effectively with his teammates: a quality that sets him apart from many young players in the country.
