From vision to action: One month of Moyosore Adebanjo’s leadership in Onigbongbo

One month ago, Hon. Moyosore Adebanjo assumed office as the Executive Chairman of Onigbongbo LCDA with a bold promise: to restore hope, build trust, and place the people at the heart of governance. Thirty days on, that promise is already unfolding in concrete action.

Water returns to Olusosun after a decade

For over ten years, residents of Olusosun lived without access to clean water. Within weeks of assuming office, Hon. Moyosore provided lasting relief, restoring dignity and comfort to families long neglected.

Youth at the centre of development

Ahead of International Youth Day 2025, he engaged youth representatives across Onigbongbo to co-create ideas for empowerment, innovation, and inclusion. He also launched the Moyosore Onigbongbo Youth Championship Cup — not just as a football tournament, but as a platform to nurture unity, discipline, and talent.

Women and market leaders given a voice

Hon. Moyosore engaged Market Leaders (Iyaolojas & Babaolojas) and Women Leaders from Wards A–F, stressing that Onigbongbo cannot thrive without women at the forefront. He reaffirmed his commitment to their welfare, economic empowerment, and leadership in community development.

Security and justice strengthened

Recognising that no progress can thrive without safety, the Chairman convened a Security Dialogue with the Lagos Neighbourhood Safety Corps (LNSC) and built a strong partnership with Brig. Gen. O.M. Oyekola, Commander of the 9th Brigade Cantonment.

At the judicial level, he also met with the Onigbongbo Customary Court to reaffirm his commitment to justice delivery that works for the people.

War against drug abuse

In a landmark move, Hon. Moyosore invited the NDLEA to Onigbongbo LCDA for a special sensitisation programme targeting the youth — a proactive step to curb drug abuse before it destroys the next generation.

Civic responsibility made easier

Determined to boost civic participation, he partnered with INEC officials to simplify voter registration. To further support the process, he provided the CVR committee with laptops and printers, making it easier for residents to register without stress.

Health and economy in focus

From a renewed commitment to transform grassroots healthcare, to engaging artisans on economic empowerment, Hon. Moyosore has ensured that governance touches lives in practical ways. He also set a new tone for excellence in revenue generation, securing resources that will power more development.

In just one month, Hon. Moyosore Adebanjo has translated vision into visible action — restoring water, strengthening security, empowering youth and women, improving civic participation, and laying the foundation for health and economic growth.

The message is clear: Onigbongbo is on the path of people-driven transformation. This is only the beginning.

IT’S A NEW DAWN IN ONIGBONGBO
