Former Attorney General of the Federation (AGF) Abubakar Malami says he has been invited by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and will fully comply with the invitation.
Malami confirmed the development in a short statement shared on his Facebook page, saying his decision to honour the summons reflects his commitment to accountability and transparency in public service.
“I hereby reaffirm my commitment to honour the invitation,” he said. “I understand the spirit of accountability and transparency in public service — the principles that I both advocate and champion.”
He added that he would keep Nigerians updated as events unfold and remains committed to openness in matters relating to public trust.
Malami has recently been in the news over political tensions in Kebbi State. On September 1, his convoy was attacked by suspected political thugs in Birnin Kebbi. He later petitioned top security agencies — including the NSA, IGP, DSS, Immigration, and Civil Defence — alleging a plot to destabilise the state through the importation of thugs.
The DSS invited him for questioning over the incident on September 22.
On November 17, Malami announced his intention to contest the 2027 governorship election in Kebbi State. He resigned from the APC in July and defected to the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
