The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has extended its industrial action by another eight weeks, as a result of “insensitivity and peddling of lies by the government.”
ASUU made this known during a prolonged meeting of the National Executive Council (NEC) which started on Sunday and ended on Monday. The union’s national secretariat at the University of Abuja was the venue of the NEC meeting.
Newswatchplus gathered from a reliable source that “a statement in regards to the extention is currently being drafted by the leadership of ASUU and that as soon as it is ready, it will be distributed.”
