Anambra PDP chieftains urge Obi to step down for Atiku

The Atiku-Okowa presidential campaign council in Anambra State has urged Labour Party presidential candidate, Mr Peter Obi to step down for their principal, Atiku Abubakar and his running-mate, Delta State governor, Ifeanyi Okowa.

The deputy director, media and publicity, Atiku-Okowa campaign council in the state, Mr Uloka Chukwubuike stated that the easiest and most reliable option for an Igbo person to become president of Nigeria was for Igbo to align with the Atiku-Okowa presidency.

He advised all supporters of Obi and Labour Party in the South East to decamp to PDP and support the emergence of Atiku as president of Nigeria come February 25.

Chukwubuike, however, expressed happiness that the people of Anambra State have already demonstrated their massive support for Atiku stating that the turn out of the people when he came for his campaign rally in the state December last year at Alex Ekwueme square, Awka, the state capital was a clear demonstration that the people love him.

Emphasising that it would amount to a wrong political decision by the people of South East to support Obi, Chukwubuike advised “No region would wish to align itself with any candidate who doesn’t have a chance on his home soil and commands at least 60 percent of the electorate such has never been the case in our politics and democracy.”
